Yes, I still read the blog periodically to check in on anything that might be juicy. I’ve been enjoying veronicapoe’s thematic contributions. I grew up on all those shows, so it’s funny for me. IMO she’s done a great job of showing how silly Robert’s “connecting the dots” comments are.

There are lots of interesting links that people post, which can be useful, but as far as bringing down the FOF, I think the blog has gone about as far as it can. It’s up to the “believers” that still continue to stay in the FOF to be the final blow. More of them need to “wake up” to Robert’s nonsense and leave that house of deceit.

I remember you in the Lincoln Lodge one afternoon about a quarter of a century ago. Vain and self-righteous as usual, going on in a loud voice, loud enough so that others at surrounding tables were turning around to look at you, about how much you had learned “traveling” with Burton. You repeated the phrase nearly a half-dozen times, “What I have learned,” lost in the same self-satisfied oddballness that you display here on the blog. I remember wondering to myself exactly what secret knowledge you were acquiring and why it was obviously not profound enough to instruct you in curtailing your vanity at least in public. A quarter of a century later you now loudly disavow the instruction that you were so boisterously proud of then. Speaking of the Taliban, you just recently violently objected to a woman using the word “student” in reference to the teacher you once felt so appreciative of.

By the way, whenever we talked about “octaves,” we often talked about mi-fa intervals as though we could easily recognize them through our “precise knowledge and understanding,” and through our supposed powers of “observation.”

Same with Ti Do intervals (or “Si” Do intervals). It was a type of “scientific fact” that demonstrated our complete grasp of the cosmos, and definitely proved our connection to higher forces. Amen.

But I sometimes found it interesting that the “octave” that we talked about was just one type of octave — a major scale in Ionian mode. But there are six other modes, with intervals that don’t fall between Mi Fa and Ti Do. Lydian mode, for instance, or Dorian mode, or Mixolydian mode. Very different feelings or”moods” to them. And in those modes, we wouldn’t be saying, “We must be in a Mi Fa interval here,” because the intervals land between two other notes, not the Mi and the Fa.

And yet, we in all our wisdom, saw the entire universe only in Ionian mode, only in Mi Fa intervals and “Si” Do intervals.

I wouldn’t be surprised if we were given a glimpse of the truth with the Fourth Way, but like so many other ideas, I sense that much of it was an organized piece of nonsense, and that because it was organized, it gave us a sense that we understood the world. We did somewhat understand the world and ourselves, but then lost that understanding as soon as we believed what we understood was “It” with a capital “I.”

Through that notion, that we had found the big It, we lost the ability to see the mystery in the world — the ability to see things for the first time. Which is what you need to really “appreciate” the arts, sciences, and philosophies that we studied in the fof.

With that sense of mystery gone, and dead, we learned nothing.
